Advanced Hydro Inc. is commercializing a patent pending technology to reduce fouling of membranes used for water purification and filtration systems.

This technology is based on a deposition technique to adhere Polydopamine, a highly hydrophilic polymer onto the surface of commercial membranes. The technology allows modification of all wetted parts, including membranes, housing, spacers and the module by simply flowing a specialized solution through the module. Its deposition is possible on variety of membranes, including but not limited to Polysulfone ultrafilteration, Polyamide reverse osmosis and Nanofiltration, Polypropylene microfiltration and Polytetrafluoroethylene microfiltration membranes.

Lab data has shown 30-50% improvement in anti-fowling properties of the commercial membranes while maintaining the flux performance. Field test and pilots are in progress. Applications of the technology include “produced water” management for oil and gas recovery systems, desalination, traditional water treatment plants, beer filtration systems, and all other filtration systems where fowling management is a big challenge.

AirDye® Solutions is an advanced technology company focused on sustainable textile solutions.  Its break-through AirDye® (www.airdye.com) technology enables the printing and dyeing of synthetic textiles without the use of water, a major environmental obstacle in traditional processes.

In addition to offering a cost-competitive, green alternative to traditional dyeing, AirDye® also enables enhanced design capabilities, such as double-sided coloration which has never been possible in the textile industry before AirDye®.  AirDye Solutions licenses its AirDye® technology to textile manufacturers for products in the apparel, promotional and furnishings markets.

AirDye Solutions’ ecobanner™ (www.ecobanner.com) technology is specifically designed for the promotional market, where it creates the highest quality display products from post-consumer recycled materials, and printed with virtually no waste or harmful by-products.

In addition to its textile technology focus, AirDye Solutions also creates designs and sells heat transfer paper through its subsidiary Transprint USA, Inc. (www.transprintusa.com).  Transprint enables the adoption of AirDye technology by manufacturing the consumables used in the AirDye® and ecobanner™ processes.  AirDye® Solutions was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

BioPetroClean, Inc. directly addresses the challenges facing various industries and installations today: waste water treatment. Led by Professor Eugene Rosenberg of Tel Aviv University, a world-renowned pioneer in the biological treatment of oil pollution who worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill; BioPetrolClean has developed ACT-Active Chemostat Treatment, a breakthrough balanced bio-process that, for the first time, results in a virtually pure output that can be directly returned to nature. With several of its key technologies and elements patented, the BPC process transforms water treatment into a significantly more efficient, economical and ecologically friendly process. It can be applied across a wide range of sites: from oil refineries and oil storage farms to drilling sites, marine ports, side stream water, reservoirs and similar locations.
