Magenn Power Inc's high altitude wind turbine called MARS is a Wind Power Anywhere™ solution with distinct advantages over existing Conventional Wind Turbines and Diesel Generating Systems including: global deployment, lower costs, better operational performance, and greater environmental advantages.

MARS is a lighter-than-air tethered wind turbine that rotates about a horizontal axis in response to wind, generating electrical energy. This electrical energy is transferred down the 1000-foot tether for immediate use, or to a set of batteries for later use, or to the power grid. Helium sustains MARS and allows it to ascend to a higher altitude than traditional wind turbines. MARS captures the energy available in the 600 to 1000-foot low level and nocturnal jet streams that exist almost everywhere. MARS rotation also generates the "Magnus effect" which provides additional lift, keeps the MARS stabilized, and positions it within a very controlled and restricted location to adhere to FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) & Transport Canada guidelines.

Sky WindPower Corporation was founded by a scientist who got his start breaking codes during World War II. The San Diego company is building prototype Flying Electric Generators (rotorcraft) to demonstrate that wind alone can simultaneously hold a rotorcraft aloft at thousands of feet above the earth's surface and cause the rotorcraft to generate electricity to be returned to ground systems via a tether.

As you get higher, the wind gets stronger. Harvesting just 1% of those high-altitude jet streams could produce enough power for everyone on Earth.

TechnoSpin wind Turbine
TechnoSpin Inc. is developing, manufacturing and selling wind turbines with a unique proprietary design that are not limited to the areas with strong winds, but can operate in many low wind environments (accounting for more than 80 % of the Earth’s ground surface) - everywhere the wind blows.

TechnoSpin's turbines range in diameter from 1.5 to 6 meters and offer a multiple array of applications. TechnoSpin systems can provide an affordable solution for remote communications towers or remote rural areas not connected to a central power grid. It can also be used in conjunction with the central grid. TechnoSpin’s small systems are portable and can be erected temporarily in areas where electricity has been cut off due to natural disasters and other disruptions in supply. The company is also developing a revolutionary versatile gear, allowing for increased efficiency and reduced weight and materials consumption.

Variable Wind Solutions urban wind turbines
Variable Wind Solutions, Ltd. specializes in providing solutions that make wind power more reliable, and facilitate the connection of wind turbines to the power grid.

A major challenge for wind turbines is achieving stable power output that can be efficiently and effectively channeled into the power grid, especially when wind speeds fluctuate significantly as is the case in urban settings.

These fluctuations place great stress on the components and electronics of small and large wind turbines alike, and require complicated solutions that are both expensive and time-consuming to maintain.

Variable Wind Solution’s proprietary technology alleviates these stresses on turbine components (in particular gearboxes) and improves the efficiency while reducing the cost of the power conditioning electronics. Ultimately, this both reduces turbine manufacturing and O&M costs, while also opening up the small/urban wind market and allowing for the further installation of industrial-scale turbines in locations with such variable speed winds that they are currently essentially “off-limits” due to technical limitations.
