Itsik Kattan is CEO of Agent Video Intelligence, a 21Ventures portfolio company. Before joining 21Ventures, Itsik worked for 6 years at O.D.F. Optronics Ltd. ( www.odfopt.com), an Israeli hi-tech company, which develops, manufactures and markets advanced hi-tech gear for worldwide defense & security markets.
Previously Itsik worked for Rastech Wireless Systems, an Israeli hi-tech company where he served as a systems engineer for the Israeli Ministry of Defense. There he was involved in the company’s establishment and served as a liaison between the IMOD and the company. Itsik holds a BA in Computer Science, specializing in Image Processing and an MBA specializing in Management of Hi-Tech Companies. |

| Dr. Ronald W. Hart -
Dr. Hart, who co-developed the first direct proof that DNA damage was causal to the onset of cancer, is an internationally recognized scientist, scholar and expert in business acceleration strategies for emerging growth companies. He is the former Chief Scientist and Executive Director of the FDA’s National Center for Toxicology Research and was the first person in the 100-year history of the FDA to be named “distinguished scientist in residence.” In addition, he was a co-author of the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986 and co-chair of the Interdepartmental Committee on Technology Transfer for the United States government. Dr. Hart has received over two dozen national and international awards and recognitions for his managerial and scientific contributions, including the Karl August Forester Preis from the German Academy of Science and Literature, and the Bose Medal from the Bose Institute of India. In policy development, Dr. Hart has chaired the White House Committee on Formaldehyde, the Inter-Departmental Committee on Environmental Health and Related Issues, the White House Task Force on Agent Orange, the Inter-Departmental Committee on Technology Transfer and the White House Committee on Chemical Carcinogenesis, among others. He also has received appointments as Distinguished Professor at a number of institutes, including Cairo University and Guangzhou University. Dr. Hart has served on the boards and advisory committees of the National Academy of Science-USA (NAS), including as Chairman of the NAS Committee on Indoor Air and the NAS Board on Toxicology and Environmental Health. Dr. Hart has served on the editorial boards of more than a dozen professional journals, has authored or co-authored over 50 scientific publications, and has served as editor for six scientific volumes. In addition to serving as Chairman of the Science and Technology Board of SAIL Venture Partners, Dr. Hart serves either as a director or as a strategic advisor to numerous public and private companies, including: Guided Therapeutics, Inc., Neogenix, Inc., St. Renatus, Inc., Motor Excellence, Inc., Ice Energy, Inc., SNTech, Inc., AeroFarms, Gravity Power, GTherm, and others. Previously he has served on the boards of Telescan, Inc., First Commercial Bank of Little Rock, Wireless Services, Inc., SSI, Inc., and others. | Professor David Cahen -
Professor David Cahen is the Rowland and Sylvia Schaefer Chair in Energy Research at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel and serves on the scientific advisory board of 3GSolar, a 21Ventures portfolio company.
Born in the Netherlands, Professor Cahen earned a B.Sc. in chemistry and physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1969. He conducted his graduate studies at Northwestern University, earning a Ph.D. in chemistry and materials research in 1973. He pursued postdoctoral research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at the Weizmann Institute in biological photosynthesis. In 1976, he joined the Institute's Department of Structural Chemistry and was later appointed to the Department of Materials and Interfaces. He was promoted to associate professor in 1993 and full professor in 1998. His recent honors include the Edwards Prize for Research Excellence, awarded to him by the Israel Vacuum Society in 2003, and the 2008 Landau Prize for Chemistry.
Since 2007, Professor Cahen has served as head of the Weizmann Institute's Department of Materials and Interfaces, the Gerhardt M.J. Schmidt Minerva Center on Supramolecular Architecture and the Mary and Tom Beck Canadian Center for Alternative Energy Research. He is also the scientific director of Weizmann's campus-wide Alternative Sustainable Energy Research Initiative, chair of the users committee of the Nanosciences Lab and the incumbent of the Rowland and Sylvia Schaefer Professorial Chair in Energy Research. | |

Melba Kurman is an analyst and speaker with over 15 years of experience in bringing innovative technologies to market in industry and university settings. She worked as a product manager for Microsoft and more recently, was responsible for marketing Cornell University’s intellectual property portfolio to industry partners.
Melba understands the unique dynamics and potential pitfalls of industry/university technology commercialization partnerships and is an expert in university intellectual property issues. Melba is the president of Triple Helix Innovation, an independent consulting firm dedicated to helping university and industry clients build better technology transfer partnerships. | |
| Dr. Arieh Meitav -
Dr. Arieh Meitav is the CTO of ETV motors and an active member of the 21Ventures advisory team. Dr. Meitav holds a BSc in Chemistry, an MSc in Electroplating & Electro-Analytical Chemistry as well as a PhD in Electrochemistry & material engineering, all from Tel-Aviv University. Dr. Meitav has more than thirty years of industrial experience in managing interdisciplinary R&D projects. Much of his career experience has been focused on advanced electrochemical power sources and the production and material technologies related to: primary & secondary lithium batteries; fuel cells; lead acid and advanced capacitor systems.
Dr. Meitav has occupied several senior positions in Tadiran's Battery Division and was one of the founders of Electric Fuel Ltd. He is the architect of the AVX-ECR Electrochemical Super Capacitor.
Dr. Meitav has established and managed several start-up companies, which divested successfully from technology incubators. He is a consultant for several industrial and MOD organizations on battery and related technologies. He also assesses the viability of high-tech projects for various VC companies and organizations.
Dr. Meitav holds 9 patents and has published extensively in international scientific journals. | |
| Dr. Gerard Medioni -
Dr. Gerard Medioni is a member of the technical advisory board for 21Ventures portfolio company Agent Video Intelligence. In the past he served as Chairman of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California. An academic titan of the computer vision world, Gerard holds six patents in the areas of video processing and computer vision, with an additional six pending. In addition to authoring Emerging Topics in Computer Vision (Prentice Hall, 2004) and A Computational Framework for Segmentation and Grouping (Elsevier Publisher, 2000), he has published and refereed over one hundred research works in the areas of computer vision, video analytics, object tracking, and numerous related topics. He is a past fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (2004), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (2003), and the International Association for Pattern Recognition (2003).
Gerard is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Computer Vision, and serves as a scientific advisor to Poseidon, DXO Labs and Perceptronics Solutions. He holds an Ingénieur Informatique from École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, Paris, and a M.S. and PhD. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. | |

Dr. Gary Miles represents 21Ventures on the board of portfolio company Micrologic and has more than 25 years of senior management and management consulting experience. Since 1995, Dr. Miles has been an executive manager and investor in several new ventures and he founded a new department of business management at the Jerusalem College of Technology.
In the 1980s, Dr. Miles managed new business initiatives at SRI International (Stanford Research Institute), Fairchild Semiconductor and American Microsystems in Silicon Valley. At SRI, Dr. Miles was an executive management consultant and published a best-selling business report on new business development. Dr. Miles holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Southern California. | |
| Dr. Neal Naimer -
Dr. Neal Naimer serves on the board of directors of ETV Motors and is a member of the 21Ventures advisory team. Dr. Neal Naimer has been involved in the management and development of disruptive technologies for over 20 years.
From 2005 to 2007 Dr. Naimer was the President of the Power Sources Division at Arotech Corportation (Nasdaq:ARTX). He was their Chief Technology Officer from 2002, Vice President from 1997 and from 1990 he was their Director of Electrode Engineering. From 1987 to 1989, he was the Manager of Chemical Vapor Deposition (Thin Films) at Intel Electronics in Jerusalem, and was Project Manager of photovoltaic IR detector development at Tadiran Semiconductor Devices in Jerusalem from 1984 to 1987. Prior to that he was engaged in GaAs microwave device developement at GEC Hirst Research in the UK.
Dr. Naimer was educated at University College of London, England, where he received his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. | |

Arnold Roth is Chief Operating Officer of ETV Motors and has been managing and counseling technology businesses in his native Australia, in the United States and in Israel for more than twenty years.
Prior to joining 21Ventures he served as CEO of VirTouch, CEO of Clinical Discovery Inc., chief operating officer of the NASDAQ-listed Virtual Communities, chief executive officer of Clockwork Group, CEO of Pegasus Medical (prior to its acquisition by HBOC Inc. of Atlanta in 1995) and CEO of New Jersey-based Acumen Systems Inc. He was a founder and joint managing director of Software Corporation of Australia, an ASX-listed marketer of software solutions, and one of the pioneers of the Australian office automation industry. He holds degrees in economics and law from Australia's Monash University. | |
